Mavado has been having a great year in dancehall with several of his new music released this year climbing local charts and placed in heavy rotations on radios and parties across Jamaica and internationally. Some of the artists performing at the World Creole Music Festival in Dominica includes Bunji Garlin & Fay-Ann Lyons, Kalash, Machel Montano, Sweet Micky, Kai, and more. Following a series of shows in the US and Canada, the Gully Gad is looking to perform at the 2017 Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival. The “Beat and Teach” singer is the headlining act on the October 27 show. The World Creole Music Fest features a diverse group of creole music across many genres like reggae, soca, afro-funk, calypso, Zouk, Haitian kompas and more. The dancehall singer, whose real name is David Brooks, has over the last decade made a name for himself internationally through collaborations with the likes of Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, JAY-Z, Akon, Ludacris, Wyclef Jean, and more. Promoters of the three-day music festival also confirmed that Romain Virgo and Etana will join Mavado on the event. He also recently performed at this year’s Reggae Sumfest which is one of the biggest reggae/dancehall music festivals in the world. Mavado is one of the most in demand dancehall artist this currently. The 20th staging of the Dominica Music Festival will be held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau at the island’s capital.
